History

At Ryedene Primary School and Nursery, we aim to ignite the curiosity of our learners so that they are committed and passionate to learn about the humanities.

The aim is to provide a balanced curriculum where the skills of History are equally as important as all other subject areas and cross curricular opportunities are vast . 

History is taught in all classes and learners encouraged to become excited by learning about events and people in the past; they are provided with many opportunities for enrichment within this subject and children are given the opportunity to visit Historical sites of interest such as Colchester Castle. 

We also have specialists and experts visit us in school so Ryedene children get to experience what life was like for people in the past both in a local and global context.
