Dear Parents and carers
I hope you have all enjoyed the sunshine this week and you are all continuing to keep safe. We welcomed Mr Tipper, our new Assistant Headteacher to Ryedene this week, here is a message from him.
“Hello, my name is Mr Tipper and I am the new Assistant Headteacher at Ryedene Primary and Nursery School. Firstly, I hope you are all keeping safe which is the most important thing. I am very excited to meet all of you and I have already heard lots of wonderful things from the teachers about your wonderful children. I have been looking at Google Classroom and have seen lots of their fantastic work. Keep up the hard work, stay safe, keep smiling and I look forward to seeing you all soon.”
I know you will join me in welcoming Mr Tipper to Ryedene.
This week saw the launch of Google Classroom which has been a huge success. Teachers have been able to set work which children have been able to complete and hand in and teachers have then been able to comment on this. It has been invaluable for the teachers to be able to keep in touch with their pupils and the pupils being able to communicate with other pupils in the classroom. We have also been able to do a live Google Meet up which has been brilliant. If you have been able to access Google Classroom then please do not feel your child has to complete everything set and go on it every day. Activities are on there for your child to do as much or as little as you want them to do. We want this to be stress free.
If you have not been able to access this, please do not worry. We are continuing to put some activities on the website for your child to participate in if you wish. We can also provide some packs if you are unable to print out any of the things from the website. Just let us know and we will be happy to help.
Whatever way you are choosing please do not put any extra stress on yourself. Remember we do not expect you to be teachers and we will support you as best we can. Carrying out daily exercise, playing a game, baking, playing with Lego, making things and learning a new skill together is a brilliant opportunity to have special family experiences; schoolwork is only part of home learning. The most important thing right now is you hug them, love them, and reassure them all will be well.
It is important to keep physically and mentally well at this time, more than ever. If you are struggling in any way, please let us know and we will get in touch with you personally. We are all in the same position.
The most important thing is that we all keep in touch. We are really enjoying hearing from you via emails, phonecalls, posts on the google classroom or class page on the website so please do not hesitate to contact us for anything you might need.
All the very best,
Mrs Tracy Dennis
