This has been an amazing year for the Ryedene Key Stage 2 Choir. In November, we performed at The Royal Albert Hall with 3000 other children, participating in a concert to raise money for Barnardo's. As soon as that performance was over, we started to rehearse for our next big project which was being held at The O2 Arena.
We sang in the Young Voices concert along with 7,000 other children. The Young Voices concerts took place in different venues around the country. The charities that benefitted from these concerts were the Teenage Cancer Trust and Fare Share (feeding disadvantage children and adults across the UK). This year the Young Voices concerts raised £98,102.95 in bucket collections for Teenage Cancer Trust and 5,940 kilos of food donations for Fareshare.
Our final event this year will be taking part in the Basildon Schools Key Stage 2 Music Festival, where we will sing with choirs from other Basildon schools. This event is taking place in June.
We are extremely lucky to have a choir full of talented and enthusiastic members. We are looking forward to more members joining and making our choir even more successful.
